Young Fabulous and Broke

Young Fabulous and Broke exemplifies LA style more than any brand I’ve seen so far. Worn by celebrities for everything from work to play, the line is comfortable, sexy and stylish. Designer Heidi Cornell explains, “Young Fabulous and Broke is inspired by young Hollywood because I love laid back style.” The line is filled with feminine dresses, boho skirts, cozy sweats, soft cotton, and luxurious cashmere yet has detailing that sets it apart from other similar brands. Where else could you find sweatpants that look sexy? Attending the lines show at the St Regis Resort for the Los Angeles Fashion Extravaganza event, I become even more obsessed with the line once I saw it on the runway.

The show started with a sexy low cut colorful dress paired with a furry white vest-the juxtaposition of colors made it feminine and sexy at the same time.  The print was shown again in a maxi dress that was fitted with a perfect silhouette. Summer-chic was exemplified when a model walked out with white capris and a loose flowy strapless top that was cream and white. Paired with espadrilles, the ensemble was ideal for a day at the beach or poolside.

With more flowy numbers following, we saw drape neck dresses and shirts in light and dark hues- some even mixed. My favorite was a sexy tie-dye style drape neck dress that was low cut in the back with an extra short hemline-perfect for a night out. Next, a maxi dress with a gorgeous tie-dye print was sexy but covered enough to make it ideal for brunch or a beach day.

Shown again with a tie neck and blue tones, the dress stunned the crowd.  One of my favorite looks was a cozy, yet stylish long sleeved top paired with a short two toned mini skirt. The skirt was flattering and fun-exemplifying everything that the brand stands for.  For the finale, a model wore a light blue and cream dress that was ruched at the waist and layered. It was short with a lightweight layer on top that was longer-making the model look almost like a Grecian goddess!

This was one of my favorite shows at the event- I love this line! Comfort, stylish, and sexy at the same time? I’m in!
