Appropriately named line, On Aura Tout Vu, French for, "You think you've seen it all", rang in their 10th anniversary, by celebrating 20 seasons of daring fashion, during Paris Fashion Week. The surreal procession took place in the remarkable, botanical wonderland, Jardin de Palais Royale. The Fall/Winter 2012, Collection, called, "Somewhere Else Kingdom", truly lived up to its name - an avant-garde, modern twist on regal looks of a kingdom unknown, a kingdom tucked away in only our deepest, most enigmatic of dreams.
Paris-based, On Aura Tout Vu, came to be in 1998. Since then, immensely experienced and talented founders, Portuguese, Andre de sa Pessoa, Bulgarian, Livia Stoianova, and Bulgarian, Yassen Samouilov, have brought us a decade of eccentric fashion, adored by the likes of Lady Gaga, that pushes the envelope and takes the imagination to places its never been.
The "Somewhere Else Kingdom" Collection, proves to be just as spectacular. Starting off the presentation with a magnificent, jewel-encrusted, towering headdress, paired with sky-high, spiked heels and printed, black, white and red, jumpsuit, adorned with a wide leather belt decked out in crystals. Definitely a sight! Additional looks drew emphasis to the shoulders, embellished with fine feathers and fur on leather sleeves, and combined with large leather belts with hardware and crystals. Feminine, lace detail was also added to some pieces, which served as the perfect touch of softness to these fierce, rock-and-roll-meets-glamour, looks. Every ensemble was perfectly executed. The intricate designs and breathtaking detail each look conveyed took revelers on a journey to a flamboyant time, perhaps a futuristic vision to what royals will be clad in one day. From the gold studs models donned in their hair, the shimmer they wore on their faces, to the leather strapped and spiked heels that graced their feet, this collection was the epitome of cohesiveness. Even the headpieces highlighted with face-framing pearls and bejeweled skeletal images were impressive and drew audible gasps from the amazed crowd. The lush backdrop of the garden certainly served to be an amazing contrast against this presentation infused with strong, yet equally beautiful decadence.
Designers aspired for the "Somewhere Else Kingdom" Collection to tell a story of a regal fantasy- Once Upon a time… an enchanted chimerical kingdom...

I believe they succeeded in conveying their fantastical vision by transporting us to a fascinating, magical place. A positively sublime way to celebrate On Aura Tout Vu's 10 years, 20 collections. "… an anniversary “of fil en aiguille”, which literally means "From thread to needle", in French, but used as the saying, "One thing leading to another". The one thing - which has led On Aura Taut Vu to present day and the creation of intricate, wearable art!
