Skingraft shows 2013 Line @Skybar for LA Fashion Week

Dressing the way you feel can be challenging sometimes. Skingraft designs pieces that make you look as cool as you feel. Their designs are at the brink of edgy, it gives a new meaning to the word style, and every piece can easily change your outlook on life. It is the modern day body armor, and being a warrior of the streets is what Los Angeles style is all about.

Skingraft is lead by designer Jonny Cota and brand manager Chris Cota in Los Angeles, CA. The line is considered art inspired, custom designed fashion and produces full ready to wear collections for both men and women. Johnny Cota showed his Spring/Summer 2013 collection this October poolside at the Skybar in the Mondrian LA Hotel.

He kept the tone of the night “bad ass” with leather android arm gear, garter belts, body armor, and fingerless gloves. Skingrafts collection was inspired by “a new generation of motorcycle gangs,” and included leather shorts with leggings for men paired with thick black gladiator sandals.

Keeping an urban esthetic the color pallet was made up of black, red, and white. Cota used leather, silk, and cotton jersey knit to combine texture combinations for every look. Styled with hats and visors as accessories, Skingraft kept a serious tone, as they stood along the pool side by side. The play on texture and color were perfectly balanced and achieved a minimal appearance within a variety of concealed details.
